mary poppins - particularly perfect in every way!

we went to see mary poppins (or m-pop - which i was told is the "in" abbreviation - thanks emma) and it was by far the best musical i have ever seen! seriously ... particularly perfect in every way!

mary poppins is an old much loved favourite of anna and mine from when we were wee little girls. anna won the video (yes video!) in a drawing competition and we used to watch it at least once a week. we knew all the words and all the song lyrics! i'm sure mum loved it too because it kept us quiet and not fighting for at least an hour and a half ... hehe.

the acting, the singing, the stage set and props, the customes ... all A-MAZING!

the little girl in front of me was so excited she got up and danced. if i was a little shorter i think i would have done the same thing.

two days later and i am still buzzing from it and annoying my work colleauges singing the tunes, so i thought i would share and let you know, if you love mary poppins then you should definitely go see it on stage.

travelling handmade ... a launch success!

after a few months in the making ... taaadddaaaa ... we held our first travelling handmade today!

the launch was held at anna's cosy home with lots of cups of tea, delicious sweets, an overflowing table of gorgeous handmade products and of course a bunch of the best and dearest women we know (oh plus phoenix, oscar and osney!) - feeling very blessed to have such a great team of love and support.

thanks to all our extremely talented suppliers. you're products are so so awesome and we are stocked to have you on board ...

once again anna and i both forgot to take photos. we are hopeless at this task and may need to take on a photographer for our event days!!

if you would like more information on travelling handmade or would like to bring travelling handmade to your home please send an email to travellinghandmade@writetome.com.au

can i just say ... we love handmade!

a massive fortnight & friday comforts when i'm feeling 'blah'...

well we made it to the finders keepers market with all the stock we planned to build. it was a ridiculously hectic fortnight because whilst busy stamping, folding, binding, cutting and threading, we were also busy prioritising a handful of orders for new stockists ... which is of course was very exciting!

anna and i had an ace time at fk meeting talented crafters and also talking with other handmade appreciators. the quality of the products at every store was so amazing and it makes me so happy that handmade is so supported. thanks to everyone that purchased from us and a HUGE thank you to the girls at finders keepers for organising such a successful event and giving people like us another avenue to sell our range. a credit to you ...

anna and i were i guess a little overwhelmed and a little dazed by the enormity of the weekend and we kind of forgot to take photos so i have borrowed a couple that sarah from tribe katalyst took - thanks sarah!

... and also mark lobo from finders keepers

so this week has been the big clean up and the come down. i have battled a cold since tuesday (a run down cold i think but also possibly because of the crazy melbourne weather) and today i decided to take the day at home on the couch. i once read on the hyena in petticoats blog the below statement ...

Now most people would collapse into bed in a snotty, watery mess, and indeed I have done, but being sick is one of those paradoxes that only knitters would understand.

its so true. especially when its stormy weather. i haven't knitted in ages and i'm almost three months overdue in finishing little oscar longmire's blanket. so this is the plan for the arvo ...

other things i like to do when i'm home sick ...
  1. pump up the ducted heating (arrrgghhh dind't think we'd still have the pilot light lite in mid-october)
  2. eat boiled eggs with soldiers
  3. play on the net and read fellow crafter's blogs
  4. catch up on iview and movies
  5. drink cups of tea!
excited about our first travelling handmade tomorrow ...

now i'm going to re-boil the kettle and pick up my knitting needles.

with love,
nicoletta xo
